Ministry Staff

Dr. Randy Rich,

Pastor

Hello!

It has been my privilege to serve as pastor of Diamondhead Baptist Church since June 2007. A native of Birmingham Alabama, I have been in Christian ministry since 1973 and a senior pastor since 1982. My wife Melinda and I have shared twenty-six wonderful years together. Our daughters Emily and Abby bless our lives. Emily, a graduate of Mississippi College, teaches music at the new Mannsdale Elementary School in Madison, MS and Abby is in her junior year at Hancock High School. Abby was also recently tapped for the National Honor Society.

I am compelled by 2nd Timothy 4:2 "I solmnly urge you: preach the word; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching."

Jesus Christ is the living Word of God. He is the only way to a relationship with God. The Bible is the clear authority and has no peer. Having dedicated my life to its study, it is my privilege to preach and teach its message of grace from Sunday to Sunday.

I would love to share Jesus with you!

Rev. Jason Clough,

Minister of Music

 “Worship is communion with God in which believers, by grace, set their minds' attention and their hearts' affection on the Lord, humbly glorifying Him in response to His goodness and His word.”

Worship is our response to God’s revelation of who He is and what He has done.

Mike Harland

O Church Arise has been a song that has had a profound impact on my life over this past year.  While it is one of the newest hymns we sing, having been written in 2005, it is one of the most profound.  The first time I heard it, I was not quite sure what to make of it.  The seemingly wordy text didn’t come easily the first time I sang it, but I was intrigued by the words I had been trying to sing.

You see, I was at First Baptist Church in Kenner when I first heard the lyrics of this wonderful hymn.  I had just moved to New Orleans and was still unsure as to why God had taken me so far from my family and friends.  I was struggling with the idea of more time in the classroom and several years more of school.  The fourth verse grabbed my attention when it said;

So Spirit, come, put strength in every stride, Give grace for every hurdle, That we may run with faith to win the prize Of a servant good and faithful.

We have a mission to do.  Our race is not over, and even though there are times when we want to give up, we need to remember;

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.   Lamentations 3:22-3
